Weight Gain and Depo Injections

Dear Editor,

I wanted to highlight how not all weight gain is caused by poor diet or lack of fitness. Let me tell you about Katie.

Katie, was  put you on Depo injection by her doctor. These injections are created from progestin, a synthetic form of progesterone, which is used mainly as a method of birth control for girls who cannot use any other form of birth control. One of the drug’s side effects is weight gain. A single injection lasts for three months, therefore the effects with the drug will remain within your body for three months. So, during these three months it was difficult for Katie to shed the added weight which she gained. I suggested that she find other, more gentler ways to regulate her periods and menses, especially at her tender formative age.

Here are some of the negative reasons for not employing Depo-Provera: it can cause decreased bone density which can lead to osteoporosis, depression, increased blood clots, liver damage, headaches, hair loss, leg cramps, nervousness, dizziness, abdominal bloating, and weight gain. Some people also get stretch marks due to the weight gain. To reduce stretch marks I suggest rubbing some vitamin E on them. Just puncture a capsule of vitamin E and gently apply to the location once or twice each day. The stretch marks will respond towards the vitamin E if you use it regularly and use it as soon as they appear. The older the stretch marks are more difficult to get rid of.  Use only the natural form of vitamin E.

I also suggested that Katie find a doctor who would listen to her, for her to have patience until the Depo drug gets out of her system and body, and to continue to follow a healthy diet and exercise regimen to get back to your former weight. In addition, I also wished her good luck on her own personal journey.

Hopefully my story will make others think about how some people gain weight and also that not all advice doctors offer is good for someone’s health and fitness.

Weigh Loss for Appearance Only

Dear Editor,

Thanks for the publish. My spouse and I have generally noticed that the majority of people are desirous to lose weight simply because they wish to appear slim and attractive. They do not seem to realize that there are many benefits to losing weight. Doctors assert that over weight people are afflicted by a variety of illnesses that can be instantly attributed to the excess weight. Thankfully that people who’re overweight and also suffering from diverse diseases can help to eliminate the severity of their particular illnesses simply by losing weight. It is easy to see a steady but notable improvement in health if even a bit of a amount of weight reduction is achieved. I am hopeful others will understand this and look to lose weight for more resons in the future.

Here’s to good health for all.

Thanks for your travel article. It is rather unfortunate that over the last 10 years, the travel industry has dealt with a great deal, terrorism, SARS, tsunamis, flu virus, swine flu, and the first ever real globally tough economy. Though despite this,  the industry has really proven to be powerful, resilient, and dynamic, by locating new strategies to deal with these difficulties. Overall the business has adapedt and responded.
