When we come into life we experience what is called “contrast.” Contrast is simply “differences.” We may call things good or bad, but really they just exist and have no positive or negative conotations; they just are as they are – neutral. Therefore, we make everything subjective and we decide if it is pleasing to us or not. We also determine when we are open to recieving something new in our life.
Being Ready to Receive
Every experience that you have causes you to give birth to new ideas and your own expansion. For example, by witnessing something unpleasant, you then realise that you want something pleasant. Overtime, you store up all the things you want in your life, and they wait in a vibrational “escrow,” until you are aligned and open and ready to receive them.
Life is always causing you to think thoughts of new things you want. More of what you have or less of what you have, more of what someone else has; you constantly desire things. These desires sometimes get in our way because we do not know how to get from where we are to where we want to be, and that causes us a lot of frustration. The beliefs and judgments and stories we tell limit our openness, and the conditioning we have adopted as our own all affect our willingness to receive.
Understanding the Art of Allowing
Whether you are going with the flow of life or resisting is what makes or breaks your experience and the outcome you manifest. When you are in the flow of life, you are “allowing,” or utilising the “Art of Allowing” which means you are voluntarily participating in life as it unfolds naturally and without resistance. This philosophy means you are letting go of any thought, feeling or belief that fosters negative emotion within you. You throw your oars overboard, lay in the canoe, relax, and let the “River of Life” take you on its intended journey. We can never know how to get from A to Z, there are too many factors and life is just too big and wondrous. All we need to know is where we want to go, be excited about getting there, and let go – surrender and let it all happen. If we are grateful ahead of time, practice “Ask and it is Given,” and have faith, life unfolds beyond our wildest dreams. A life that feels incredible to us.
The Effect of Resistance
Resistance puts a kink in our flow. It encourages us to swim against the current, try too hard, focus too much on the negative or lacking aspects of life and literally push back on what we want, forcing, trying to know everything and meddle. We try to control our experiences then wonder why “life is so hard.” If we believe this, then life is going to be hard as we regularly need validation of our thoughts and miss the effortless flow of life because we are too busy focusing on our perception that life is difficult.
No matter what it is we think, we need validation. We may say, “Why me? What is wrong with me? Why can’t I have what they have?” Well, the reason we can’t is that we just believed we can’t have it; we feel a lack or that something is missing in our life. So many of us stop and sabotage ourselves. We are about to reach our destination, it’s right around the corner, but because we cannot see it, touch it, taste it, feel it or hear it yet, we get discouraged and give up right before it happens. We say, “this isn’t working.” We turn around, forfeiting the treasure that could have been ours.
Being Open to Receiving
You cannot get to the solution with the same frame of mind that sees the problem. If you want a better situation, you have to feel better now and think thoughts that align with what you truly desire. You cannot do more, see more, and be more by racing to you want to be. Rushing while feeling bad will see you get stuck. Instead, you must surrender your (pseudo) control, and get in the flow. If you feel good now and appreciate what you have now, and you harbour the feeling of excitement and expectation that it is coming, you will flow there effortlessly. When you utilise the Art of Allowing, you feel fantastic. Life feels amazing, and all of your dreams are right around the next corner.
About this 12-part Reiki Series
In this 12-part series, readers will learn about the energy of life, how it affects us, how we can utilise it in advantageous ways and ultimately, how to achieve the Ultimate Success in their very own lives: true joy, love and happiness. I will describe the Chakras (their location, connectivity and more), what energy healing is, and how the Laws of the Universe are at play at all times. Additionally, I will detail how readers can open themselves to receiving, to flow with life instead of resisting, and how we are driven by fear and love. At the end of the 12-part series, readers should have a better understanding of their bodies, themselves and how to expand and enhance their experiences.
Next month I will cover ‘Fear and Love’. I hope you’ll join me then 🙂
