Reiki originated in Japan, founded by Mikao Usui, and is a hands-on application of “life force energy” used to promote healing and balance and stress reduction in one’s body.
The Word ‘Reiki’
The word Reiki is comprised of the two Japanese words Rei and Ki. Rei means “God’s wisdom” or “the Higher Power” and Ki means “life force energy.” Reiki means “spiritually guided life force energy.” To put it simply, practitioners use their bodies to funnel this life force energy into another. Reiki has benefits on the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Some of the advantageous effects of treatments include relaxation, serenity, peace of mind, warmth, safety and overall wellbeing.
The Healing Power of Reiki
Reiki is simple, natural and safe. Everyone and anyone can use it to enhance the quality of their life. Its effectiveness spans almost every known illness and condition. Reiki can be used jointly with other treatments for even greater results, or to improve recovery.
Though Reiki was founded in Japan, it can be used by people of every culture and ethnicity and religion. Though its spiritual in nature, Reiki is not reliant on any particular belief system. Practitioners, however, are encouraged to live in alignment with the ideals of peace and harmony. Such ideals include, but are not limited to: letting go of anger, letting go of worry, honoring all living things, working honestly and humbly and giving thanks for the many blessings life has to offer.
Practitioners are encouraged to become a clear and open channel so that this unlimited life force energy may flow through to the person receiving this natural healing treatment. This energy is being alive. When our Ki is low we are more susceptible to stress and illness. But when it’s high, we are happier, healthier and more alive and capable than ever before.
Reiki as a Healer
Reiki is a simple and effective tool to relax the body, mind and bring clarity to the spirit. It’s been successfully taught to thousands of people across various cultures and backgrounds and has profound benefits on both the practitioners and those receiving the treatments. As Reiki’s’ source is an unlimited supply of love and light energy, its impact is expansive and powerful. It’s natural, and easily received by our bodies. Its reach as a treatment alternative is growing, and for good reason. There are absolutely no ill effects of Reiki treatments. The next time you suffer a malady, consider a Reiki treatment. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you collectively.
About this 12-part Reiki Series
In this 12-part series, readers will learn about the energy of life, how it affects us, how we can utilize it in advantageous ways and ultimately, how to achieve the Ultimate Success in their very own lives: true joy, love and happiness. I will describe the Chakras (their location, connectivity and more), what energy healing is, and how the Laws of the Universe are at play at all times. Additionally, I will detail how readers can open themselves to receiving, to flow with life instead of resisting, and how we are driven by fear and love. At the end of the 12-part series, readers should have a better understanding of their bodies, themselves and how to expand and enhance their experiences.
Next month I will cover ‘Energy Healing’. I hope you’ll join me then 🙂
