These diet and mindset mistakes are so common that you probably don’t even realise you’re making them…

Focusing on Losing Weight

When you do this, you are focusing on what is wrong with you and what you don’t like about yourself. Instead, make your weight loss goals about gaining life instead. Decide you are lovable, worthy and deserving of happiness right nowwithout having to lose weight. Then focus on ways to feel good by making choices that honour your body.

Fighting Your Body with Willpower

Your body is giving us feedback signals all the time. Cravings, hunger pains and fluctuating energy levels are your body’s way of communicating its needs. Next time you feel a craving – don’t try and squash it down. Instead, take a moment to consider what your body is trying to tell you what it’s really hungry for.

‘No Pain No Gain’ Mindset

This mindset takes healthy to an unhealthy extreme. Sometimes it will feel good to go hard, sometimes it will feel good to take it easy. Having a balance of both is the key. Find your happy medium – your weight loss results are not a direct correlation to how much pain you can endure.

Stressing Out

Stress releases a hormone called cortisol that wreaks havoc on your body in a number of ways, but it can also make your body hold onto fat. Examine the stresses in your life and look for ways to eliminate them or change your perspective on them. Even if you don’t feel stressed, your self-rejection and body insecurities are certainly not relaxing you!

So How Do You Create Long Term Results?

Losing weight is not just about eating less and exercising more, excess weight is a symptom of physical, mental and emotional stress. If you want lasting physical transformation, you also need to transform your mindset and how you deal with emotions. To find out more, please subscribe to my free video series.

About Our Mind Body News and Review Columnist – Bianca Aiono

BianceBianca Aiono is a woman on a mission – to help women wake-up from the spell that says, “I’ll Be Happy When I Lose the Weight.”Bianca’s mind body weight loss methodology treats excess weight as a symptom of an underlying condition – and strongly refutes losing weight is just about exercising more and eating less.

An elite athlete since she was 14, Bianca competed internationally in 6 different sports – but for years struggled with her weight as always “the big girl”, which saw her lose and gain back the same 15 kilos again and again over a 15-year span. At her best, this included winning Bodysculpting Championships and CrossFit titles and bingeing, purging and starvation diets at her worst. But she wouldn’t change a thing because it helped her realise that self-love and approval are the best fat burners of all.

As a Mind Body Performance Coach, Bianca is dedicated to helping women get off the ‘diet-misery-go-round’ and sculpt their healthiest body without gimmicks or slaving in the gym. Her philosophy “Gain Life to Lose Weight” is aimed at helping alleviate the major causes of excess weight – physical, mental and emotional stress.
